Thanks to cooperation between ZSSK and the High Tatras Tourism Association
Discounted fares on the Tatra electric railway came about thanks to great cooperation between the Railway Company Slovakia (ZSSK) and the High Tatras Tourism Association. The Tatra Electric Railway is one of the first integrated partners of the Tatry Card system — a benefits card that guests receive automatically and free of charge when they register with their accommodation provider.
The High Tatras Tourism Association, in cooperation with Cardberg and the town of Vysoké Tatry, introduced an innovative system inspired by the Austrian model of tourist cards. It links digital guest registration with the collection of the accommodation tax and the automatic issuing of the Tatry Card. Vysoké Tatry is thus the first town in Slovakia where accommodation tax collection is fully linked to a destination product — a benefits card for visitors.
